What Single Parent Coaching Really Looks Like

Let's unpack what exactly coaching is, and more importantly, what it’s not.

So many people come to me already deep in the world of healing. therapy, courses, books, podcasts, social media experts, all with the hope that if they just do more, they’ll feel better faster. And while all of that can be helpful, healing isn’t something you rush or stack like a to-do list.

Nothing truly meaningful or effective happens overnight.

Coaching isn’t about doing everything all at once. It’s about doing what actually supports you, at the right pace, in a way that allows real change to happen.

For many people, coaching is a more effective fit than therapy. It offers structure, direction, and ongoing support focussing on where you're at now, helping you take what you know and actually apply it in real time. Coaching keeps you focused on growth, mindset, and forward movement, so you’re not just talking about change, you’re living it.

You don’t need to overwhelm yourself or feel like you’re behind because you’re not “there yet.” Growth happens when you give yourself time to process, reflect, and integrate what you’re learning into real life.

That’s where coaching comes in.

Coaching isn’t just a space to talk about your ex or your breakup. Yes, we work through what you’ve been through, we work the breakup and how to let go, but the heart of coaching is helping you move forward in a more confident and intentional way. It’s about understanding your patterns, recognising your roadblocks, and giving yourself the space to implement change instead of rushing past it.

The growth I see in my clients doesn’t come from doing more or getting advice from every person you can speak to, it comes from slowing down enough to actually apply what they know.

Over time, this is what coaching creates:

You feel stronger in your decisions.

You respond instead of react

You trust yourself more.

You stop second-guessing every situation.

The aim of coaching is to get you to a place where you no longer focus on worrying about what your ex might say or do, you reach a place where you believe in yourself enough to know that no matter what is thrown your way that you'll be able to handle it confidently effectively so it no longer affects you like it used to.

Instead of dating feeling drained or discouraged, you move through it with confidence and self-awareness. Instead of spiralling when something feels uncomfortable or when it doesn't work out how you planned, you know how to believe in yourself and move forward without losing momentum and end up taking 20 steps backwards.

This isn’t about forced positivity or chasing quick fixes. It’s about building a mindset where you know you can handle whatever comes your way because you’ve given yourself the time and support to grow into that version of you.

That’s the power of ongoing coaching. It keeps you focused without the pressure of staying stuck from all the unknowns and what ifs It supports inner growth without overwhelm or anxiety. It helps you integrate change instead of rushing it.

And most importantly, it helps you rebuild, not just after a breakup, but into a life that feels aligned, confident, and sustainable.

Coaching works because it’s active, consistent, and applied to real life. It's not just focussed on unpacking things once a week and then going back into the world alone, coaching supports you as situations are actually happening. You’re not just gaining insight, you’re learning how to respond differently, regulate your emotions, make aligned decisions, and build confidence through practice and repetition.

Over time, those small, intentional shifts add up to real change. That’s what creates growth that actually sticks.

At its core, coaching isn’t about staying focused on your ex, it’s about building a life that feels full, aligned, and genuinely exciting again. It’s about your confidence, your growth, your goals, your relationships, and creating a life that lights you up in all areas, minus the triggers and the negative drama. The breakup may be part of your story, but it doesn’t get to be the centre of your future.

If you feel like you want support that allows you to, make sense of things, and move forward without overwhelming yourself, this is where you start.

This is your safe space where you can work towards real, lasting change.
